FAQs
How long will I need therapy?
Therapy is individual. We cannot guarantee number of sessions without a proper intake and assessment of your concerns, strengths, goals and level of motivation for change.
Will I actually feel less anxious / happier with therapy?
Yes! Our therapists are highly trained and use evidence based treatments - that means the methods we use have been proven to help people like you feel better. Our combination of different methods increase your access to different tools and skills specific to perinatal mental health, maternal mood and anxiety disorders and trauma in the reproductive period. This includes supporting you to process what happened to you in your journey to become a mother or birth provider. You can feel less anxious and less sad with therapy.
How much time and money do I need?
Therapy plans are specific to clients. The amount of sessions varies from 6-12 sessions to years of sessions depending on your needs and goals. EMDR for trauma can often have an impact for clients within 8-10 sessions weekly. We also offer intensive sessions which are longer (90 minutes up to a few hours) which cost more up front but increase the likelihood of mental health symptoms reducing in as little as a few weeks.
Cost for sessions start at $170 for a 50 minute session.
Most therapists offer limited reduced rate for clients who are motivated for change but have no benefits for Registered Social Work and cannot afford therapy. Ask your therapist if they have any spaces available if you need to discuss this option.
